Your Huchuy Qosqo Trek Full Day begins early in the morning with pick-up from your hotel or accommodation in Cusco.
From Cusco, you will travel by tourist transportation toward the starting point of the trek in the highlands surrounding the city. During the drive, the scenery gradually changes from the urban landscape of Cusco to open agricultural fields, traditional communities, and mountain terrain.
Upon reaching the trailhead, your professional guide will provide a short briefing about the route, weather conditions, safety recommendations, and the history of the area before beginning the hike.
The trail crosses beautiful high-Andean landscapes, where you can enjoy views of mountains, valleys, farming areas, and traditional rural communities. The route combines gradual sections with uphill and downhill terrain, making it an interesting full-day hike for travelers with reasonable physical fitness.
As the trek progresses, you will follow ancient paths and natural mountain trails before approaching Huchuy Qosqo, one of the lesser-visited archaeological sites overlooking the Sacred Valley.
Upon arrival, you will have time to explore the archaeological complex with your guide. Huchuy Qosqo contains agricultural terraces, stone and adobe structures, ceremonial spaces, and remains that demonstrate the importance of the area during the Inca period.
The elevated location also provides impressive panoramic views across the surrounding mountains and the Sacred Valley.
After completing the guided visit, you will begin the descent toward the valley. The downhill section provides changing perspectives of the landscape as you leave the archaeological site behind.
